Lovemarks

Hi Lovelies! I wanted to start off this post by thanking StyleFash for featuring me as fashionista of the week. You can check it out here: http://stylefash.wordpress.com/author/stylefash/

In my last fashion post, I mentioned a book I was reading called "The Lovemarks  Effect" So many of you contacted me to inquire about the book I was reading, that I decided to do a post devoted to it.  Just to set the stage a bit, my day job is in public relations and marketing, so I love reading business books related to what I do.

The Lovemarks effect explores brands and the difference between liking a brand and LOVING it.  We all have brands that we like and then there are the brands that we love shamelessly. I found this book insightful and came away feeling that there are definitely brands that have "Lovemarks". When I love a brand, I evangelize it to all of my friends because I want them to love it as much as I do. Are you the same way? This  book is a great read and highlights the fact that people are 80% emotional and 20% rational. The essential difference between emotion and reeason is that emotion leads to action, while reason leads to conclusions.

For me personally, the brands I LOVE have little to do with status symbols, but how those brands make me feel.  I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the brands I have Lovemarks for and why. As you check out my list, you will see brands that are both high end and moderate and I highlight the brands that affect all aspects of my life, rather than just fashion. So here are my Lovemark brands in no particular order. I hope you enjoy!

I am curious, what are some of your Lovemark brands?

The first Lovemark on my list is Hermes and the beloved Birkin bag. I may never own one in my lifetime, but it represents high quality and discriminating taste.

I love Starbucks because they make everybody feel like a rock star. Even when I've had a bad day, there is always some
cheerful person who is excited to serve me. They always make me feel as if they value me as a customer.

I have a soft spot for MAC cosmetics. I love that they have makeup that looks great on women of color, their makeup artists are knowledgeable and helpful and they are enviromentally responsible..

I truly have a love affair with Trader Joes. This is where I buy a lot of the groceries that help me create those wonderful cooking experiments that find there way into this blog. I  love that this store is like a Disneyland for foodiesand what I love even more is that they care what I think about their products. If I don't like an item, they take it back with no questions asked. I love that!

My list of Lovmark brands would not be complete without Christian Louboutin. This brand represents style, class, sassiness and they are oh so SEXY!

Levi's represent nostalgia and it transcends econominc lines. You can see just about anyone in a pair of Levis. The wealthiest and the poorest and we all have nostalgic memories associated with a pair of Levis. I know I do.

Vosgues Chocolate. I love what this brand stands for and I Katrina Markoff's story. I love that this brand is her and she is her brand and the chocolates are AMAZING! I love the way she runs her company and the way she treats her staff and love that she was "different."  A true game changer. Love her!

Balenciaga, whats not to love? Amazing craftsmanship, gorgeous leather, high quality. Love!

A brand that can sum me up in two words? yep, I love em and I love rebels with a cause.

Lv, This post is sheer genius. This is a great lifestyle/marketing post. Do you tag your photos so that the search engines look at you when someone browse for Levi's, for example?
